The name of this group comes from the amazing book "The Kayla Chronicles" by: Sherri Winston. It's an amazing, witty, and well-written book! Anyways, I created this group to speak out against how women all around the world are being treated unfairly- especially teenage girls who are struggling to find their true identity while being bombarded with negative messages from the media. Music, ads, TV, modeling... it's almost too much to take in. Your parents are telling you one thing, your friends are telling you another, and everyone else is telling you that you have to be stick thin, have flawless skin, don't speak out too much, and if you aren't perfect, just try to blend in. And if you don't blend in? Well, our western mainstream culture will chew you up and spit you out. Our mission is to provde a safe place for girls to turn. We'll start up events, we have a forum, a mypraize, a facebook, and an email address. If you need to talk we'll listen.
